noroxomaritidine synthase EC#: 1.14.19.50; ChemWhat Code: 1375815

Product Name noroxomaritidine synthase
Example Structure Example Structure of noroxomaritidine synthase EC#: 1.14.19.50
Synonyms CYP96T1
EC Number 1.14.19.50
CAS Registry Number
Comments A P-450 (heme-thiolate) enzyme. The enzyme, characterized from Narcissus aff. pseudonarcissus (daffodil), forms the two enantiomers of the Amaryllidacea alkaloid noroxomaritidine by catalysing intramolecular oxidative para-para’ phenol coupling. The oxidation involves molecular oxygen without its incorporation into the product.
Cofactor heme-thiolate
History
Reactions (1) 4′-O-methylnorbelladine + [reduced NADPH–hemoprotein reductase] + O(2) = (10bS,4aR)-noroxomaritidine + [oxidized NADPH–hemoprotein reductase] + 2 H(2)O. (2) 4′-O-methylnorbelladine + [reduced NADPH–hemoprotein reductase] + O(2) = (10bR,4aS)-noroxomaritidine + [oxidized NADPH–hemoprotein reductase] + 2 H(2)O.
