(S)-canadine synthase EC#: 1.14.19.68; ChemWhat Code: 1375833

Product Name (S)-canadine synthase
Example Structure Example Structure of (S)-canadine synthase EC#: 1.14.19.68
Synonyms (S)-tetrahydroberberine synthase, (S)-tetrahydrocolumbamine oxidase (methylenedioxy-bridge-forming), canadine synthase, CAS-1, CYP719A13, CYP719A21, EC 1.1.3.36
EC Number 1.14.19.68
CAS Registry Number 114308-22-4
Comments A cytochrome P450 (heme-thiolate) protein found in plants. The enzyme catalyses an oxidative reaction that does not incorporate oxygen into the product. Oxidation of the methoxyphenol group of the alkaloid tetrahydrocolumbamine results in the formation of the methylenedioxy bridge of canadine. Formerly EC 1.1.3.36 and EC 1.14.21.5.
Cofactor heme-thiolate
